Privacy

The short version

No account, no sign-up, no cookies, no advertising, and nothing that says who you are. Suṣumṇā does not know your name or your email, and it never asks for either.

On your phone

The app remembers a few small things in your browser's own storage, so that it opens the way you left it: whether sound is on, light or dark ground, whether practices repeat, which door you used last, and how many times you have visited and finished a practice. The counts decide small things, such as when the “breathe comfortably” line stops appearing and whether a door says again.

None of this leaves your phone. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it.

What the site counts

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to see whether the app is used and how. It counts page visits, and a few moments inside the app: a door chosen, a practice begun, finished or left (and roughly how far through), how long someone sat in Be here now (in broad bands), sound, ground or repeat switched, and the share button used.

Each count carries only what any web request carries: the page, the referring site, the country and region, and the kind of device and browser. There are no cookies. Vercel tells visits apart with a short-lived fingerprint of the request that is thrown away after 24 hours, and your IP address is not stored with the data. Nothing is joined up across other sites, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising.

Fonts

The typefaces load from Google Fonts. Like any web request, that tells Google your IP address and browser; Suṣumṇā sends Google nothing else.

Your part

You can use Suṣumṇā fully without any of the counting: a content blocker will stop the analytics, and the app works the same. And when it opens without a network, from your home screen, nothing is counted at all.
